Doughnut Tee – Watermelon

Doh-nut t-shirt in Watermelon is part of our second collection. This design is by Andy ultra, resident designer at Super Ultra Cool. Doughnuts feature heavily in Andys work, probably attributed to his sweet tooth. This particular design is taken from Andy’s painting on display at Cult Coffee in Leigh-on-Sea, but slightly adapted for the t-shirt form. This design is a reference to The Simpsons with the classic pink doughnut with sprinkles being Homer’s go to choice. The Simpsons have always been a inspiration behind Andy’s designs. He likes the geometric aspects off how the characters are designed, having found a book of how they draw the characters when he was younger. Andy uses geometric shapes to keep the shapes of his hand illustrations consistent; a technique similar to how they draw their characters. Andy initially uses a light coloured pencil to draw out guide lines, before refining in a standard black pencil, a technique that comes from animation.

The Tee is a relaxed fit, heavy weight 220 GSM 100% combed cotton. Built to last with neck ribbing, side seams, shoulder-to-shoulder tape, and double needle hems, plus preshrunk fabric for minimal shrinkage when washing. The design is digital printed direct to fabric on the back of the tee. The Super Ultra Cool logo is screen printed over the heart on the front, and the inside back collar has the advised washing instructions to keep the garment in best condition for as long as possible.
