Piranha painting print

Piranha by Andy Ultra, is one of a series of six paintings made in connection with Super Ultra Cool. This painting is on display at June Store in Leigh-on-Sea. Super Mario is another one of Andy’s inspirations; inspiring the name of Super Ultra Cool, as well as many aspects of Andy’s Art. The Piranha plant is a character found in the Super Mario universe, which is what inspired Andy to create this piece. The plant is potted within a gloved hand, a trope often found in Andy’s work. Plants feature a lot within Andy’s work, however this piece stands out amongst them due to the nature of its character and unusual aesthetic.

The painting has been scanned at very high resolution to capture all the detail of the brush strokes, mistakes, and imperfections that adds to the fidelity of the artwork.
